History of Alkaleri

Alkaleri local government area is situated in Bauchi state, northeast of Nigeria, and has its headquarters located in the town of Alkaleri. The main tribes in the local government area of Alkaleri include the Jarawa, Dugurawa, and the Labor Jaku while the local government comprises of several villages and towns such as Kumbala, Badara, Birim, Rahama, Wuki, Digare, and Badakoshi. The major religion practiced in the local government area of Alkaleri is Islam religion while Hausa is the commonly spoken language.

Popular festivals that are celebrated in Alkaleri local government include the Durbar and the Faluwala festivals while the local government area features some landmarks which include the very popular Yankari Games Reserve which shields a massive area measuring about 2,244 square kilometers.

Alkaleri local government area is known for the cultivation of crops, commerce and the rearing of animals. The area hosts popular markets such as the Muda Lawal market and the Alhaji Mohammed Central market that attract thousands of buyers and sellers both from the local government and also neighboring LGA.


Bauchi Geographical Description

Bauchi State is located in the northeastern part of Nigeria. It was created in 1976 when the former North-Eastern State was divided into three separate states. The state capital is Bauchi, and other major cities in the state include Azare, Jama'are, Misau, and Ningi.

Bauchi Economy

Bauchi State is known for its agricultural resources, including cotton, groundnuts, and yams, as well as its mineral resources such as limestone, clay, and gypsum. The state also has a diverse cultural heritage, with over 55 ethnic groups, including the Fulani, Hausa, Sayawa, and Tiv.

Bauchi State has a predominantly agrarian economy, with agriculture accounting for a significant portion of its GDP. The state's agricultural resources include cotton, groundnuts, yams, maize, rice, and sorghum. Bauchi State is also known for its livestock production, particularly cattle, sheep, and goats.
