Tungo local government area is located in Adamawa state, the northeast geopolitical division of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Tungo local government consists of various towns and villages which include Gamu, Dawo, Galabje, Kiri, Dananji, Timdoga, Dalsum, Dameji, Nuibago, and Dichire. With calculation and estimation, the population of Tungo local government has more inhabitants in the area compared to some other LGA, and primarily occupied by members of the Chamba, the Hausa, and the Fulani ethnic groups. The Chamba language is the dominant spoken language amongst the others in the Tungo local government with the religions of Christianity and Islam extensively practiced in the LGA.
