THE DESCRIPTION OF DASS
History of Dass
Dass local government area is located in Bauchi state, northeast of Nigeria, and has its headquarters settled in the town of Dass. Some towns and villages that makeup Dass local government area include Bajar-Bagel, Baraza, Bazali, Durr, Bundot, Lukshi, Wandi, and Dott. The local government is also home to the renowned Dass Emirate and the Emir of Dass acts as the traditional administrator of the local government area. The population of the Dass local government is calculated with more inhabitants and the most prominent tribe being the Hausa ethnic group. The religion of Islam is extensively practiced in the local government of Dass while the commonly spoken in the area is the Hausa language. Popular landmarks in the Dass area include the Mbulla hills.
Geography of Dass
Dass local government has a hilly landscape and hosts a number of hills that are scattered all over its territory and including the Mbula hills. Economy of Dass
Cultivation of crops is the major occupation of the people of Dass local government with crops such as Rice and Maize produced in massive quantities within the LGA. Dass local government is also rich in mineral resources and has substantial deposits of minerals such as zinc, quartz, feldspar, iron, and Kaolin.
Bauchi Geographical Description
Bauchi State is located in the northeastern part of Nigeria. It was created in 1976 when the former North-Eastern State was divided into three separate states. The state capital is Bauchi, and other major cities in the state include Azare, Jama'are, Misau, and Ningi.
Bauchi State covers an area of approximately 49,119 square kilometers. The state shares borders with six other states in Nigeria, including Jigawa to the northwest, Kano to the north, Kaduna to the west, Plateau to the southwest, Taraba to the southeast, and Gombe to the east.
The landscape of Bauchi State is diverse, with a mix of highlands, plateaus, and plains. The state is home to the Jos Plateau, which rises to an elevation of over 1,200 meters above sea level. Bauchi Economy
Bauchi State is known for its agricultural resources, including cotton, groundnuts, and yams, as well as its mineral resources such as limestone, clay, and gypsum. The state also has a diverse cultural heritage, with over 55 ethnic groups, including the Fulani, Hausa, Sayawa, and Tiv.
Bauchi State has a predominantly agrarian economy, with agriculture accounting for a significant portion of its GDP. The state's agricultural resources include cotton, groundnuts, yams, maize, rice, and sorghum. Bauchi State is also known for its livestock production, particularly cattle, sheep, and goats.
