Geography

Obudu Local Government Area is located in the northern part of Cross River State, Nigeria. The local government shares borders with Benue State to the north, Obanliku Local Government Area to the east, Bekwarra Local Government Area to the south, and Ogoja Local Government Area to the west.

History

However, with the arrival of the British colonial administration in the late 19th century, the area became part of the Southern Nigeria Protectorate and was subsequently incorporated into the Eastern Region of Nigeria after independence in 1960. Obudu Local Government Area was created in 1989 as part of the local government reforms of the military administration of General Ibrahim Babangida. Prior to the creation of Obudu Local Government Area, the area was part of Ogoja Local Government Area.

Economy
