Geography
Ogoja local government has a land area of approximately 1,800 square kilometers and shares boundaries with other local government areas (LGAs) in Cross River State. To the north, Ogoja is bounded by Bekwarra and Obudu LGAs, while to the south, it shares boundaries with Yala and Abi LGAs. To the east, Ogoja is bordered by the Obanliku LGA, while to the west, it shares boundaries with Benue State. The strategic location of Ogoja at the crossroads of several LGAs and states makes it an important hub for trade and commerce in the region. It also facilitates the movement of people and goods between different parts of Nigeria, as well as neighboring countries like Cameroon.
History
Ogoja is a Local Government Area in Cross River State, Nigeria. It is one of the eighteen (18) LGAs in the state and it is located in the northern part of the state. The area is predominantly occupied by the Ejagham people and it has its headquarters in the town of Ogoja. Ogoja is located in the northern part of the state.
