History of Gwoza
Gwoza is a local government area in Borno State, Nigeria. It was established in 1976 as part of the local government reforms that took place under the military regime of General Murtala Mohammed.
Before the creation of Gwoza Local Government, the area was part of the larger Biu Local Government Area. However, due to the increasing population and the need for more effective governance, Gwoza was carved out as a separate local government area.
Gwoza Local Government is located in the southern part of Borno State and shares borders with Cameroon. The area is predominantly occupied by the Marghi and Chibok people, with a few other ethnic groups also residing in the area.
Geography of Gwoza
