History of Aguata

Aguata is a Local Government Area that is situated in Anambra State Nigeria, having its headquarters in Aguata (the location of the headquarters office buildings), a big part of the quarters falls into the Aguluezechukwu area, while the smallest part lies within the commercial town of Ekwulobia area. The locals of Aguluezechukwu and Ekwulobia have been in an age-long contention with each other, with both towns making a claim of the headquarters status on account of an ownership claim to the ‘Aguata land’. This state of affairs occurrence made the Government of Anambra State officially name the Local Government Area of Aguata as the headquarters in a bid to settle the conflict.

Christianity and traditional religion are common practices within the area with English and Igbo languages spoken widely within the area.

Economy of Aguata
