Shelleng is a Local Government Area (LGA) that is situated in Adamawa State, northeast Nigeria. The local government shares borders with Girei and Guyuk local governments and is made up of towns and villages such as Shelleng, Timbu, Ketembere, Kiri, Bodwai, Jumbul, Dunge, Gundo, Boburo, and Tallum. Shelleng Local government has an estimated population of inhabitants with the area consisting of different members of varying ethnic groups such as the Kana Kuri, Kiri, Fulani, Lala, and Bura. The Bura language is one of the spoken languages in Shelleng local government while the religions that are commonly practiced in the area are Christianity and Islam. Popular festivals that are celebrated by Shelleng local government include the festival of Mendamo while the landmarks located in the area include the Shelleng Cottage Hospital and the Kiri Dam.
