History

Ikom is a local government area in Cross River State, located in the southern part of Nigeria, specifically in the South-south geopolitical zone. It is bordered by Ogoja to the north, Cameroon to the east, Obubra to the west, and Akamkpa and Biase to the south. Geography

Ikom Local Government Area in Cross River State, Nigeria, is home to several tourist attractions, including the Agbokim Waterfalls and the Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary. The Agbokim Waterfalls is a seven-part waterfall located about 17km from Ikom town, which cascades over steep cliffs and forms a beautiful pool at the base. The Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary is a conservation center and protected rainforest that is home to several endangered species such as chimpanzees, gorillas, drills, and many species of birds and butterflies. The sanctuary also features the Canopy Walkway, which offers visitors an opportunity to experience a bird's-eye view of the rainforest.
