History of Dikwa

Dikwa is a town in Nigeria located in the northeastern state of Borno. The area has a history that spans several centuries, and its significance has fluctuated over time due to a variety of factors.

Dikwa is situated on the eastern edge of the Lake Chad basin, approximately 90 kilometers north of Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State.

The terrain of Dikwa is generally flat, with a few low hills in the vicinity. The soil in the area is sandy and prone to erosion during heavy rainfalls. The climate of Dikwa is hot and dry throughout the year, with temperatures ranging from 28°C (82°F) to 42°C (108°F) during the day.

Economy of Dikwa

The economy of Dikwa is primarily based on agriculture, with farming (sorghum, maize, millet, cowpeas, and groundnuts) being the main economic activity. Fishing, trading, and small-scale industries also supplement the local economy of Dikwa.
