Madagali or Madagli (as some tribal people call it) is a town and local government area in Adamawa State, Nigeria; it is adjacent to the border with Cameroon. The local government area was created in the year 1991 when Taraba State was forged out of Gongola State. It borders the Askira uba to the west, the Michika to the north, Gwoza local government area to the south, and also borders the Republic of Cameroon to the east. The local government area has many ethnic groups but the Maffa, Marghi, and Fulani are the major ethnic languages. The major villages in Madagali's local government are Shuwa and Gulak. Madagali local government is richly blessed with fertile land, and this enables the people to heavily engage in Agricultural activities.
