History of Hong

Hong's local government area is situated in Adamawa state, Northeast Nigeria, and LGA has its headquarters in the town of Hong. Villages and towns that make up Hong's local government include Kuliyi, Shiwa, Makera, Dugwamba, Mutuku, Mubula, Sikaluri, Gaya, and Uba. Hong local government is bordered by Mubi, Gombi, Song, and Micjika local government areas. The local government of Hong is populated and the majority of the area’s inhabitants are members of the Kilba ethnic sub-division. The Kilba dialect is popularly spoken in Hong local government while Christianity and Islam are the commonly practiced religions in the LGA. Popular festivals that are celebrated in Hong local government include the Sakakikaki and the Tiwe festivals while notable landmarks in the area include the Adamawa state College of Education.

Hong's local government witnesses two major seasons which are the dry season and the rainy season. The local government has an average temperature of about 32 degrees centigrade while the average wind speed in the area is about 11 km/h.
