Isiala-Ngwa North people are an Igbo tribe located in the southeastern part of Nigeria. They also are among the most populous ethnic group in Abia state southeastern Nigeria. The Isiala-Ngwa North people are among the Tribes called ‘NGWA’, the Ngwa people’s current population is estimated to be 4 million+ and are said to have the highest population within the 17 local government areas of Abia State, Nigeria. History of Isiala Ngwa North

Accordingly, the present-day Ngwa land was inhabited by the Ibibio people. There was a man whose name was Diobu who was a descendant of Iwhuroha. Subsequently, this man had to leave Iwhuroha with his followers and they were sheltered by the Ibibio-Efik people. Notably, Diobu and all his followers were polygamous. Extensively, the man and his followers were getting married to the Ibibio-Efik women; and they became more populated than their host: the Ibibio. This act triggered the Ibibio people and they invade and chase them out. Diobu and his followers decided to join forces with the Ohafia and Abiriba people, and they fought the Ibibio people from all angles.
